I've started knitting when I was very young, maybe even before primary school. At that time, I spent a lot of time at my grand-mother's house. She was often knitting, crocheting and sometimes sewing all sorts of things. She used to make clothes for my dolls and stuffed toys. As a child, I was very calm but curious and so she taught me the beginner's knitting skills like cast on, knit, purl and bind off.
When I was in college, I started getting urges to knit. It seems it helped me clear my mind by occupying my hands. Soon, I got tired of knitting scarves and really simple fingerless gloves (you know, the sewn rectangle type) and I started looking on the web for patterns. That's when I discovered Ravelry and the array of blogs, tutorials and videos on the subject. I was so happy to see that there were that many people knitting out there!
Many teacups later, I've knitted my way to a much better understanding of yarns, stitches and pattern reading. But still, until now, I've only completed projects based on other designer's patterns. That's why I've created my first blog! Here, I intend to show my work, namely the things I knit from patterns that I like, but most importantly this is where I will show the patterns that I write myself. You might occasionally see other crafts and a little cooking as these activities are also very dear to my heart. Hope you will find something that pleases your eyes and mind.
Hi, I'd love to make your Sanderson Sisters dolls but I don't know how to knit. Is there an easy way to convert the knit patterns to crochet?
